Winter 10 Exploring Christianity - Wk 8

We thank God for your partnership in the gospel with us on Wednesday nights and for your faithfulness in praying for fruitful ministry. More than ever, it seems like the team is effectively serving, the talks are gospel centered and have a logical Biblical theological progression, and our guests are seriously considering the claims of Christ on their lives. The team, as always, serves effectively and joyfully together.

LAST WEEK

Again, our progression was from no one is good enough to earn their way to heaven, to God’s sovereign rule over all creation, to man’s sinfulness, to Jesus claim to divinity, to his unique qualifications as Savior, to the good news of the gospel, and to repentance and faith.

THIS WEEK

This week we answer the final question, “I can I be sure I am saved?” The talk opens with an “assurance scale” on which I ask them to mark how sure they are that they are saved. The class will discuss their responses in their discussion times. I am going to tell them they can have assurance of salvation because of the Promises of God, the Person of Jesus, and the Presence of the Holy Spirit.

SPECIFIC PRAYER

Pray once again for salvation for those who have not yet repented and believed in Jesus Christ. Pray that God would change hearts, open ears, eyes, and minds to the claims of the gospel. Pray for a joyful humility that runs to Christ.

Pray also for those who have placed their faith in Christ, that they would not drift from here but get connected to our life as a church. I will be promoting our First Steps class that starts on April 14th, so pray that many would take that next step and if they are not coming on Sunday morning, pray they would start.
