This past Sunday’s sermon on the “Parable of the Sower” in Matthew 13 was a sobering reminder of our desperate need for your prayers. Pray that the seed would fall and good soil and “bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty.” Pray that God would prepare the soil of the hearts of our guests so they would have ears that hear, eyes that see, a mind that understands, so that they would turn towards Jesus.
LAST WEEK
We had a surprising number of people turn up last week amidst the unexpected snow storm. We were planning on making some changes to the evening schedule and format, but we had such a sizable crowd that we were able to move forward as planned. Thank you for praying.
I spoke on the three unique qualifications of Jesus as Savior – His perfect life, His substitutionary death, and His life giving resurrection. This positions Jesus to provide for everyone who believes perfect righteousness, freedom from the penalty of sin, and a sure hope of eternal life.
THIS WEEK
This week we are going to look at four pictures of why the Gospel is such good news. We will look at how the Gospel sets us free from slavery to sin and its consequences, cleanses us from the guilt of sin, announces us righteous in God’s court of law, and reconciles us to a Holy God. All of this is from God to everyone who believes.
SPECIFIC PRAYER
We desperately need your prayers, as always...
- Pray that guests continue to come, especially with only three weeks remaining.
- Pray for the care of the children and the joy of the children workers.
- Pray for those cooking and serving meals; that they would be a light to our guests.
- Pray for the setup and take-down team, their labor would be of love for Christ.
- Pray for the effective preaching of the gospel, in the Spirit and with full conviction.
- Pray for the effective leading of discussions, the building of relationships, and genuine love for our guests.
- Most of all, prepare that God would prepare the hearts of our guests to see, hear, understand, turn from their sin, and believe in Jesus Christ.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your prayerful support – it is powerful!
