Caampued Update

Paul and Arcy Caampued returned home from their visit to Crossway to the Philippines 3 months ago. In the week after their arrival, they spent time fellowshipping with the PTC Team members. In late May, Paul met with the teams that had lead training in his absence in Baybay and Tacloban in Leyte and spoke for 2 nights in an open air evangelistic gospel proclamation where many people came to hear the gospel proclaimed.

In the last weeks of May, several of the planned trips had to be canceled due to strong typhoons but this also gave Paul & Arcy an opportunity to travel to la Union to visit Arcy’s parents and conduct a seminar on the Prayer life for Believers and Paul was able to preach on a Sunday worship service during this trip.

During the month of June, the PTC men were hard at work again putting floor tiles in on the 1st floor. This was largely funded by the generosity of the people at Crossway and will serve, Lord willing, many trainings in the years to come. Additionally, the PTC men started training on Essentials of Expository Preaching.

July and August had some highs and lows for the team. Starting in mid July, Three seminars began at 3 different locations throughout the Philippines led by different men on the leadership team. In late July, training continued for the PTC team members and this training continued this past week at the PTC center where the men applied their learning by participating in preaching workshops where they would evaluate each other.

The last few weeks also saw their challenges. Arman (part of the PTC leadership team) was diagnosed with Kidney stones and has been on medicine which has allowed him to work a somewhat normal work load over the last few weeks. Also, Rudy’s father past away on July 9th.

Arcy has kept busy as well. In addition to working with the women’s group to approve an application for scholarship for one student, Arcy has begun the first study for the wives of the PTC Leadership team. They will be going through the book “The Excellent Wife” by Martha Peace. Last Saturday (Aug 13th) was the first meeting of the woman’s group so please be praying for God’s word to be revealed to the group through Arcy & the book.

Paul has also accepted an offer to travel to Korea to speak at the Asian Mission Conference regarding missions in the Philippines. Paul will be leaving on August 31st for Korea and will have the blessed opportunity to preach from God’s word on his birthday (September 1st). He has received his Visa so please be praying for him as he puts the final touches on what he plans to speak on at the conferences.
