Building a Coliseum

I asked a man, "What are you doing?" He replied, "I am moving rocks."
I asked another, and he smiled and said "I am building a coliseum."

God is building His Church, and by His grace we are able to be used in just a small part here in Kenya. We find ourselves increasingly thankful for the men and women He is calling into ministry here and the passion with which they serve. There is much work ahead for these church leaders, and they face so many cultural and economic obstacles.

This weekend, through seminars and preaching we were able to touch over 200 churches in Kenya, as leaders from surrounding areas came to be taught. It was a blessing to see the members of our team preach and teach--things that are outside of their normal roles, and see the impact that it had. Those who attended the seminars and the Sunday Services expressed great joy and gratitude.

It is such a blessing to be 13000 kilometers from home (8000 miles for you in America) and be able to worship the one true living God with our brothers and sisters here. In our interactions we see that we are doing more than graphic design and library work...more than laying concrete and fixing a roof. More than seminars and preaching. Though we have projects that need to be done, we are helping to build churches where believers now and in the future will praise God and be discipled. We are assisting Scott in their mission of equipping pastors and elders who will go out to their home towns (and the ends of the earth) touching lives with the gospel. God is building His Church. To Him be the glory!
