Even though God created the world for the praise of His glory, and the end of human history will result in the praise of God’s glory, right now all of humanity has rejected God and His glory. Apart from divine intervention, there is no worship of God.
For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Romans 1:21-23The result of humanity’s rejection of God is His just punishment for all who have rebelled against Him and turned to worship false gods. Apart from God’s divine intervention, everyone who rejects God will face an eternal separation and punishment from God. They have no hope apart from God.
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. Romans 1:18-19
Yet, God has no pleasure in the death of those who reject Him. God desires all men to be rightly related to Him and that they turn from their rebellion and humbly seek God.
Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel? Ezekiel 33:11
CrossWay exists to warn everyone who has rejected God of their current predicament and their unavoidable future apart from God’s gracious provision in Jesus Christ. We exist to proclaim the good news of God’s gracious rescue plan in Jesus Christ.
