“Hungarian is impossible to learn! It’s the most difficult language in the world!” These oft repeated sayings discourage many. Yet, our desire to connect and reach out to our Hungarian neighbors is encouraging us to attempt the impossible. Added to language difficulty was yet another impossibility: “Lord,” I said, “How could I ever learn this language, the tutors are so expensive, there is no way we can spend all this money just to learn Hungarian.” God heard my silent prayers! One of our Hungarian neighbors is also a teacher of Hungarian!... And she has offered to teach me Hungarian in exchange to helping her practice English. We started meeting weekly and I am excited about the progress so far!
