Christmas Meal Boxes and God's Grace

The gospel is primarily about God’s grace – God giving us what we don’t deserve. What we deserve – what I deserve – for my rebellion against God is His just punishment for my sin. I have offended a Holy, and righteous, and just God. He is deserving of my whole hearted worship, and for most of my life He has only received my rejection and outright rebellion.

BUT GOD, when I was deserving of His just punishment extended me mercy and grace.
BUT GOD shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. -Romans 5:8

BUT GOD chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; -1Corinthians 1:27

BUT GOD, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved -Ephesians 2:4-5

God was rich in mercy and rich in grace in sending Jesus Christ to be my Savior. He gave me exactly what I didn’t deserve – forgiveness, and righteousness, and reconciliation with God.

God’s Grace Evidenced and Extended

Our Christmas Meal Boxes are an evidence of God’s grace at CrossWay and an extension of God’s grace to our community. It is an evidence of God’s grace at CrossWay because we are freely, and joyfully, and graciously sharing with others what God has so kindly provided to us. We would not naturally do this were it not for God who first loved us. It is also an extension of God’s grace because we are giving to others what they don’t deserve.

Thank You CrossWay

So, thank you CrossWay for your generosity in giving to others who are in need. Thank you for evidencing the transforming effects of the gospel. Thank you for being like God who gave freely and generously to you when you deserved His wrath. Thank you for wanting to be a light in darkness – a city set on hill with our lights shining together – to those in our community.
