We're In Full Swing

Kyle Zeman and Zach Skanron arrived safely to Rancho3M today. They have jumped right into the swing of things and were warmly welcomed by the rest of the team.

We heard a lot of testimonies of God's grace today. Three students who shared today were Anastasia Brown, Chelsea Zeman and Spencer McDonald. Each one pointed to specific areas of their lives in which God was at work, transforming them into the image of His beloved son. It was very encouraging to hear what God was doing in each of their lives. But what was most encouraging was the evidence of God's grace at work among the youth of CrossWay Community Church. God is raising up another generation of faithful men and women who love the gospel and want to see themselves and others transformed by it.

The devotions have been particularly rich as we savor together the fruit of the Spirit. Paul Engle led this morning's devotion on peace which had the effect of sparking a fresh gratitude for the peace Jesus purchased for us by his death. It also was compelling towards pursuing peace with others. John Klimt led this evening's devotion on patience. He served us very effectively by describing patience carefully and depicting patience in the life of Christ. We need to be humbly depending on Christ in order to be patient like Christ.

Today we wrapped up one of the large projects: cleaning the school. Four teams swept and mopped floors, washed windows, wiped ledges, cleaned desks, washed white boards and cleaned chalk boards. These four teams are being reorganized to concentrate on three painting jobs: the painting of a college apartment, the painting of the ceiling in the girls' dorm and the weatherproofing of wood posts. Another team is welding fence panels together. It appears as though we have another opportunity to joyfully serve by moving manure. There will be more details on the "Poo Crew" tomorrow.

We're starting to show signs of weariness. Tomorrow night we will be taking a trip to "downtown" Guadalupe for ice cream. It will be a welcomed change of scenery and break from the intense schedule. Please pray that we would serve the Lord with gladness tomorrow and then be refreshed by our outing tomorrow night. Our weariness is a good weariness. It is satisfying to know that the reason for one's weariness is because you are pouring your life out for the glory of God and the good of others.

We've been taking video while down here. The video below will give you a taste of our first day. Lord willing we'll provide some more videos soon. Just click the play button.
