Have you ever wondered how the apostle Paul would make use of the technological advances in transporation and communication if he were alive today? It is amazing how easy it is for 38 people to travel from Wisconsin to Mexico in less than one day.
We arrived at Rancho3M at about 4:15 pm Guadalupe time without incident. It turns out Guadalupe is two hours behind Wisconsin because Mexico has not yet "sprung forward" and changed their clocks. When we arrived we were quickly surrounded by many of the children from the ranch. Within five minutes of getting out of the vans, Jenna Klimt was holding hands and smiling with a 5 year old girl from the ranch. It was so sweet to see these kinds of connections take place so quickly. This week the children from the ranch are on spring break too. Come Friday, we will be throwing a birthday bash for 16 of the children at the ranch.
Not all of us are here though. Two young people (Kyle Zeman and Zach Skanron) came down with illnesses just before our departure and were unable to travel. They will be flying down this Wednesday. Please pray these two will jump right in and not miss a beat.
This evening we started our team meetings that will be focusing on the fruit of the Spirit. Ben Hacker led worship, Zach Metz shared how God saved him and Mike Salvati led the devotion on humility - that a humble dependence is necessary to be fruitful (insert John 15:5 here).
Tomorrow we begin our work projects. We will be weather staining, welding fence paneling, painting, administrating and cleaning. Please pray that we would see ourselves rightly in light of Who God is and serve the staff and kids of Rancho3M with joy. Mark Gunderson will be leading tomorrow morning's devotion on love and tomorrow night Mark O'Halloran will be leading the devotion on joy. Pray that God would use these men to effectively minister God's word to the rest of the team. And of course pray for opportunities for us to love on these children. Thank you for sending us!
