ESCALE 5 - Encouragment in Ministry

There are many events which brought us great encouragements, such as the new teachers that God graciously provided to us for 2010, the exciting news of former students’ ministry and the blessing of having our needs met this year. There are other great encouragements we received this year, such as:

God has given us the blessing of being able to serve Him in different regions of Brazil. Since our humble start in the beginning of 2004 we have been steadily growing from the centre in Belo Horizonte to Governador Valadares, Bangu, Ecoporanga, Resplendor, Ipatinga, Vespasiano, Miranda, Ouricuri and Arapongas.

We thank God for Entrust Foundation and their constant financial and spiritual support. Jem Hovil and David Vecchitto have played an important role in our ministry through words of encouragement and other practical helps.

In the first half of this year I have been invited three times to preach in my local church. Camila is one of the Teenager’s Department leaders and Márcia is helping the ladies department. André is preparing for baptism. God has helped us to bring many friends to the church including one of Nelson’s brothers who has just become a Christian.

Nelson has already been able twice to Miranda’s in situ training, one by plane in April, and other by car in July with the whole family. The trip by car was exhausting as it was a 2 day-trip both ways but it was an enjoyable and rewarding journey. My family could see me at work and relate to the indigenous leaders we are training.

I have been invited to different events in Brazil. In August 9-14, I was invited to give a week intensive Bible course at a Bible Institute in Assis, a town in São Paulo State, around 450 miles away from Belo. In September 24-27, I am going to Goiânia, some 400 miles away from Belo, to speak to a group of 50 pastors and leaders. All these opportunities to teach God’s Word have been a great encouragement to our ministry in Brazil.
