Entrusted with the Gospel

Trust In Christ foundation recently changed its name to Entrust Foundation to more accurately describe what we are doing as an organization. When Trust In Christ was started 15 years ago we participated broadly in anything that was evangelical, from publishing, to music, to youth work, to church planting, to evangelistic campaigns, whatever.

Pastor Training

Around 5 years ago we changed our focus to invest exclusively in pastor training at the grassroots level. We had funded
one pastor training program in Africa and heard of the many pastors who would walk 100 miles to receive the free training. Then the penny dropped about the strategic nature of investing in pastors who have had no theological education and the effect this would have on the local church, evangelism, church planting, and social transformation.

Entrust Foundation

We chose Entrust Foundation to communicate that we are entrusting the gospel to faithful pastors who are able to entrust it to other faithful men. Part of the work we will be doing in Brazil will be the training of grassroot pastors. This reflects CrossWay’s partnership with Entrust Foundation. In fact, Entrust pays for all of my expenses related to our trip to Brazil as an Entrust representative.

Annual Budget

Thank you for praying for our annual meeting last month. As a result of this current economic crisis, our budget has
been cut by 20% from 250,000 pounds per annum to 200,000 pounds per annum. This will translate in the reduction of the number of projects we support (currently 19) and a reduction in the budgets of the remaining projects. Gratefully, the two projects connected to CrossWay, in the Philippines and Brazil, received an A and B rating so hopefully they will not be significantly affected. I would like to help both of those projects come in at a strong A.

Please continue to pray:
  1. Pray for God’s guidance as we set out to achieve our goals for the coming year.
  2. Pray for God’s provision as we finance all of this worldwide work.
  3. Pray for Jem and Andy who need to make some hard decisions about our projects.
  4. Pray for faith, boldness, and fellowship as we pray for the work.
  5. Pray for the strengthening of these pastors and local churches.
  6. Pray for the healthy planting of new churches and the evangelism of the lost.
  7. Pray for the healing of Nick Johnson, one of the Board members who is battling melanoma.
