Care Group Challenge - 2009

This idea is not unique to me, in fact, I remember hearing about a Care Group that laid down a challenge on a Sunday morning. The challenge was to spend the next couple of Sunday morning’s meeting new people at CrossWay and coming back to the next Care Group meeting and reporting on how it went and who you met.

My Challenge

That led me to think about a different challenge. Here is my challenge: challenge your Care Group members to reach out to someone with the gospel over the next month. The challenge is not necessarily to share the gospel with them, though that would be the ultimate goal, but to take some steps over this next month and begin intentionally reaching out to someone with the gospel. Move one step closer by building a relationship, or changing a conversation, or sharing part of your testimony with someone. The challenge is to be intentional about reaching out to someone with the goal of sharing the gospel with them. It is the challenge of doing something intentional, anything intentional to think, live, and speak evangelistically.

Summer Challenge

The summer is a perfect time to do this. It’s perfect because we see more people. It’s perfect because Care Groups meet less often. It’s perfect because we have more time. If your Care Group is meeting once per month, why not lay down the challenge one month and report back the next month. I trust you will all be encouraged, your faith would be built, you will be one step closer to sharing the gospel, and God will be glorified.
