Your $1,000 gift towards typhoon relief is another surprising expression of CrossWay's love to the Lord and concern to us in particular. Thank you so much for your generosity in the midst of economic adversity in the US. It again proves that God's provisions are always available anytime.
Our farm in Tanay was not spared of the devastation brought by typhoon Pedring and Quiel. the perimeter fence near the river was totally uprooted. The rice about to be harvested this month was damaged. The corn we planted were also destroyed. The other crops were also gone. We will have to replant in the following weeks. The hut we to raise chicken, and serve as shelter for the farm the equipments was blown down. Also the shelter for the goats, cows and carabaos was totally damaged.
The funds will be used to restore the destroyed fence, and the ruined
structures in the farm. We did some relief activities to our neighbors by the
Center by sharing rice, fish, and some groceries. One woman was loaned Php
2,000 to re-start her small store. We also distributed vegetable seeds
(eggplant, tomatoes, squash) for planting.
I and Arcy went to the farm this morning and took some pictures. Clearing had started and re-plowing the field had begun. As the sun showed, we hurriedly bring out the palay (unmilled rice) to dry them. The palay was what remained after the flood. We made a temporary shed to store the rice.
Thank you for your love and concern to us and the Lord's ministry work here in the Philippines.
Attached are some pictures of the typhoon aftermath.
