On February 24th, Crossway Community Church sent out a team of 17 men & women on a missions trip to Manila, Philippines. The team consists of Ross Bullin, Arron Cline, Josh Costello, Eric Hansen, Karen Janota, Don Lehmann, Gary Lewis, Mercedes Compton, Tim Morrow, Keet Redden, Keith and Shelby Riley, Micki Szabo, David Vecchitto, Nick Vecchitto, Lucas Wirtz, and Josh Zoerner.
While there, the team will be serving under the ministry of Paul Caampued, a Filipino, who works to strengthen the Filipino church through the training of local pastors. The trip is being called "Foundations for the Gospel" because we will be building with bibles and bricks.
First, the Bibles: We will be teaching at a Pastor’s Training Conference (March 3-6th) for 70 Filipino pastors. The theme of the conference is “Communicating God’s Word with Clarity and Passion.”
Second, the bricks: We will be aiding in the construction of a pastor’s retreat and training center. This two-story multi-purpose facility will help to house pastors during training conferences. Paul also hopes that this building will one day house a church he hopes to plant in the future.

The team is eager to see God’s glory manifested through the spread of the gospel in the Philippines. Please join us in praying along the following lines:
1) Strength in Serving – Pray that our team would posture ourselves as humble servants (Phil. 2:3-8) alongside our Filipino brothers in Christ. Pray that God would give supernatural strength, endurance, and joy during long hard days of physical labor.
2) Safety – Pray that God would protect us as we travel, work on the building, and live in the Philippines. Pray also for our spouses and families that we leave behind, that God would guard and care for them in our absence.
3) Biblical Fellowship – Pray that God would give us the sweet gift of fellowship with one-another and with our Filipino brothers and sisters in Christ. Pray that God would make Himself known in our midst and give us greater passion for His glory.
4) Spirit-Empowered Teaching - Pray that God would gift and empower the men teaching at the Pastor’s Training Conference. Pray that they would be able to effectively equip the 70 pastors in attendance and that the pastors would return to their churches with new found vision and passion for communicating God’s word.
The team will return on Saturday, March 7th and we look forward to rejoicing with you in the work that God has done.
