Christmas Greetings from Kenya

Dear Friends,

Greeting from Kenya in the name Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. We thank God for the churches and families who have continued to support and encourage us in our ministry. We are also thankful for the Churches and families who hosted us during our June –July visit to USA. We greatly appreciate the team from CrossWay community Church that came to Kenya and ministered with us in different ways.

God has continued to take care of us as family. Joshua, John, and Irene are attending a youth camp from Sunday 11th to Friday 16th December, 2011. Kevin has gone to be with his grandmother until Christmas. Alex is the only one in the house this week. We thank God for the rains in many parts of Kenya. Many people shall have good harvest if the rains continue.

I thank God for the Christmas holyday. We are going to close our College for Christmas from 16th December, 2011 to 17th January, 2012. However, as administrators there are things which we have to attend to even during times of leave or break. Next semester is always a very busy one for me due to teaching and preparation for graduation.

We thank God for his blessing, and opportunity for ministries, we have been very busy in the last months. I will be officiating a wedding 17th December at our home local church and speaking at a special service on 18th December, then I will take a break and be with the family until mid January, 2012.

Our main prayer this time is related to high inflation. Prices of many essential commodities such as sugar, maize flour, cooking gas, and fuel have more than doubled in the last ten months. Since September 2011, we have been having waves of strikes. We started with teachers who are employed by the government, air traffic controllers, university lecturers and now doctors are on strike. They are all pushing for better pay due to high inflation and cost of living. Most of boarding schools and colleges have also increased their fees, including where our children are going to school. I know inflation is affecting many countries, including USA. Therefore, pray for the level of inflation to come down, otherwise living expenses are too high.

We thank God for the Continued support of our partners in the ministry through Missions Afield. If you would like to become our monthly supporter or you would like to send one time gift to us, you can send your donation to the address below with a memo indicating Mbandis:

Almost 100% of support comes directly to us. We thank God for Mission Afield Board of Directors because the administrative cost and most of the overhead are covered by the Board members. Thank you for supporting us as we continue training church leaders.

The church of Christ is growing in numbers in Africa, but we need well trained church leaders who can mature the church through sound teaching so that believers shall not be misguided by manipulations of today false teachers.

Have a blessed Christmas.

Thanks,

Paul & Rodah Mbandi
