The Joshua Project

For those of you who visit Missio CrossWay, you will notice a new gadget on the sidebar called the Joshua Project.

The Joshua Project compiles statistics about unreached people groups across the whole world. It is used by mission organizations, church planters, and people who are eager to pray for the advance of the gospel to all peoples in all nations.

An unreached or least-reached people is a people group among which there is no indigenous community of believing Christians with adequate numbers and resources to evangelize this people group.
The current statistics from the Joshua Project tell us there are 16,699 people groups in the world of which 6,900 are unreached (41.3%). The current estimated world population is 6.8 billion people of which 2.81 are part of unreached people groups (41.3%).

In Matthew 24, verse 14 Jesus says,

And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
The church has many more people groups to reach with the gospel before the Great Commission is complete. The Joshua Project gadget can help us pray for the advance of the gospel to unreached people groups. Every day the Joshua Project identifies a new unreached people group for our prayers. Would you join us in praying for these people who desperately need to hear of Jesus Christ?

The Joshua Project is a great resource to learn about and pray for unreached people groups.
