This past Sunday evening (Monday morning in the Philippines) was “Skype Time” with the Caampued’s. Again, what a joy and blessing it was to spend time with them! Paul and Arcy look well, as did Paul III and Marichu, and they look forward to a few days of rest after the PTC 12th Annual Minister’s Conference.
Paul spoke of possible income generating projects. One is "cattle fattening." Needed are 20 heads of cattle, ready for fattening, as well as the acquisition of a second hand truck and expenses for wages of 2 people who will take care of the cattle. This is a safe investment, but slower in terms of turn over, which yields a lower income. An advantage is that there is no problem with the market for cattle. Another option for generating income is "egg farming." This is more costly than cattle, and a bit more risky, but yields a fast, daily income. Required is about 1,000 heads of pullets ready to lay eggs, housing, feed, vitamins, and wages of 5 people to take care of them, and, again, the acquisition of a second-hand truck. There is more of an investment required for housing, as well as the need for egg trays and a power generator for handling the eggs from harvesting to marketing.
The woman’s group that Arcy is leading has been named, “Sweeter As The Year’s Go By.” Arcy says it has been productive and interesting. May God continue to strengthen the relationships within this ladies group, and may they draw nearer to Him through this study course.
Prayer requests:
- Paul will be preaching in a church in Mapita, Aguilar, Pangasinan on April 1st. Pray for safe travel, as this is where their car was sideswiped last December by an oncoming jeepney. The roads are narrow and steep, with deep cliffs on each side.
- Pray for Arcy as she travels to join Paul on April 2nd before proceeding to her hometown in Balaoan, La Union. There will be a family reunion on April 7th in Malanas, Santol, La Union and Paul will be sharing God’s word with many of Arcy’s relatives who are not yet believers. Pray for the presence of God’s Holy Spirit.
- Pray for Paul’s preaching at Family for Christ Church (the church where Arcy’s family worships) on Easter Sunday, April 8th. Pray for safe travel back to Antipolo on the night of April 8th.
- On April 9th Paul will be delivering a lecture to the youth leaders in Antipolo and nearby towns (this Youth Convergence was organized by youth leaders from different churches). Pray that the youth leaders will hear God speak through Paul and that God’s message to them will be shared with many.
- Pray for Paul and Arcy’s son, Paul III, who will be managing the practical workshop of the Youth Convergence.
- Pray for safe travel to Puerto Princesa City, Palawan where Paul will be lecturing at a pastor’s conference (Arcy will be traveling with Paul).
- Pray for safe travel to Iloilo City where Paul will be lecturing at a pastor’s seminar and officiating at the marriage of the daughter of Marcelito Cagud, the PTC Regional Coordinator for the Visayas.
We thank God for the Caampueds and the relationship we’ve been blessed with. We pray that God will give them rest, we pray for their safety as they travel, we pray that God will strengthen them for the work He has placed before them, and we pray, above all, that Jesus Christ would be glorified in all that they do.
