Purpose of the Visit
The reason for their visit is to expose them to the people, ministry, and mission of CrossWay. Our desire is to have them broadly connected to the people of CrossWay so that as a church we can more effectively support, encourage, and pray for them. We want them to know the people of CrossWay and be known by the people of CrossWay. We want the support of our mission partners broadly owned by the people of CrossWay.
Ways to Encourage Them
Can I encourage you to find a way over the next five weeks to get to know them and their work, to encourage, pray, and possibly extend hospitality to them? Here are a few suggestions:
- Find them on Sunday morning, introduce yourself, and welcome them to CrossWay.
- Invite them to your home for lunch or dinner and ask them about where they live, their testimonies, their work, and the pastors and churches they serve.
- Invite them to your Care Group meeting, have them share their testimonies, ask them several questions about their work, and then pray for them as a Care Group.
- Start your Care Group meeting with a potluck and enjoy a meal with them.
- Take them on a field trip to see something in greater Kenosha, Milwaukee, or Chicago.
- Reserve May 1 on your calendar and plan on attending the Sunday Evening Gathering focused on their work in the Philippians.
- If possible, make a small financial contribution at the Sunday Evening Gathering to their work.
The Sunday Evening Gathering on May 1st will be focused on the Philippines, the Caampueds, and the gospel work going on there. Paul and Arcy will present a slideshow and some small events for the children. We also want to give them several gifts:
- Books for the library in their newly constructed Pastor Training Center. CrossWay members will be able to purchase and donate individual volumes.
- Paul desperately needs a new laptop. Bill Nye will purchase and setup the computer. CrossWay members will be able to make a financial contribution to the cost of the computer.
- We will purchase something for Arcy; likely something for her home. I will contact her daughter Marichu to determine what would serve her. Again, CrossWay members could contribute to this cost.
The Caampued’s will be staying with us for almost the entire time they are in the U.S. I have a detailed itinerary of their daily plans, so if you would like to schedule a time to get together with them, you can either contact me or make arrangements with them when they arrive.
