Off to the land of tea, crumpets, men in tights, and snack-sized sandwiches! Only joking; I absolutely love England, love their food, but especially love some good friends who live there! On June 26th I depart for Entrust Foundation’s annual meeting in Bath, England. Our meetings are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.Training Pastors
I have had the privilege of serving on the board of Entrust Foundation (formerly Trust In Christ) since it’s inception in 1994.
“Entrust Foundation exists to equip pastors in the majority world to build the local church.”Basically, we exist to train pastors who have had no formal theological education to shepherd the local church, plant churches, show the practical the love and mercy of Christ, and share the gospel with those outside of Christ. We support work in Asia, South America, and many parts of Africa.
CrossWay's Mission Partner
As a local church we consider Entrust Foundation as one of our mission partners. My involvement in training pastors and serving on this foundation is an extension of our mission as a local church. Paul Caampued, who is a CrossWay mission partner in the Philippines, is supported by Entrust. Nelson Salviano, who is a CrossWay mission partner in Brazil, is also supported by Entrust. It has been a sweet providence to see this pastoral training work integrated into the life of CrossWay.
A Network of Partners
Our relationship with Entrust has allowed us to develop a relationship with Paul and Nelson, understand their work, character, and theology prior to entering into a more formal partnership with them. As you are well aware, this has developed into CrossWay sending short-term mission teams to serve these men, their leadership teams, and their churches. This August CrossWay is sending a short-term mission team to serve Nelson Salviano in Brazil.
This Year's Agenda
There are a couple of things I am especially looking forward to at this meeting. First, working with the team to set next year’s goals. Second, thinking how we can meet our near and long-term commitments in this economic downturn. Third, praying for the work, our mission partners, and our field director. Fourth, caring for one of the board members who is battling melanoma.

- Pray for God’s provision as we finance all of this worldwide work.
- Pray for faith, boldness, and fellowship as we pray for the work.
- Pray for the strengthening of these pastors and local churches.
- Pray for the healthy planting of new churches and the evangelism of the lost.
- Pray for the healing of Nick Johnson and our spiritual care for his soul.
- Pray for safe travels and the safety, health, and care of my family.
