I made a quick visit to Kinagatan yesterday to see the on going rehabilation project to clean-up, repair, and restore after the typhoon damage.
The baklad and open cage besides it are to catch fingerlings to re-stock the top closed cages and fish pen cage. There will be 3 baklads with open cage placed in different areas. The fingerlings caught in the baklad are placed in the open cage for a day or 2 for the fingerlings to recover before they are transferred to the top closed cage and fish pen cage for growing.
The top closed cage is a growing cage until the fish are ready for harvest. There are already 5 top closed cages. Re-stocking will start when the new bamboo poles are put in place where the cages will be tied together. We will make 5 more top closed cages to be place in different areas.
The four fishermen partner beneficiaries in Kinagatan (Binangonan) are: Ka Jessie, Ka Enie, Ka Epoy, and Ka Nestor (one of my brothers). The other two locations for our rehabilitation work are in Subay in Cardona town, and Bolobolo in the town of
Thank you for helping us in the rehabilitation work to reach the fisherfolks and in process preaching the gospel to them. The new fishing cabin will be put up once the cages are restocked. It will have a second purpose- a place to meet the fishermen for the gospel and also a place for the PTC Team members to refresh.
