The work in the Philippines is moving forward on all fronts. The construction of the Pastors Training Center (PTC) continues as funds become available and weather permits. We are now in our rainy season and we are grateful that the building withheld the forces of typhoon Frank.The PTC Training Team conducted 10 seminars in different areas of the Philippines and 1 facilitators training from April to June. There were about 181 pastors, church workers, and youth leaders who attended the seminars. The Proclaim Jesus Christ (PJC) Crusade was held in 2 locations.
PTC Training Team traveled to Kabancalan City in Negros Occidental where they conducted a seminar on Spiritual Maturity. They were suprised with the big turnout of participants. About 70 participants from different churches in the city and far-flung villages came to attend. A PJC Crusade for 3 nights was held the Tampalon Barangay Plaza that was attended by thousands of people. Many people received Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal Savior.
Marcelito Cagud - the PTC Regional Coordinator in the Visayas - Freddel Ramos, and I traveled to Iloilo City and then went on to Antique. Two new members of the PTC Traning Team from Aklan joined them in Sebaste, Antique. The three of us led the Facilitators Training in Dungon Christian Church in Iloilo City (Dungon Church was under water for 3 days after being flooded during typhoon Frank).
We conducted three seminars in Antique: Basic Principles and Foundational Skills in Doing Bible Exposition, Mastering the Basics of Doing Bible Exposition, and Interpreting the Gospels 3 . Delegates from Aklan travelled to Antique for the 3 days seminar.
A seminar on Spiritual Maturity was conducted among pastors from the group One Way Outreach, where Pastor Arman was formerly part of the leadership when he was still in Davao. Another seminar, Basic Principles and Foundational Skills in Doing Bible Expostion was held at the unfinished PTC Center in Antipolo City. A 2-night PJC Crusade was also conducted in Paenaan Plaza, San Jose, Antipolo City. About 2,000 people attended the crusade. The PTC Center (though yet to be completed) was used as the operations center for the crusade.
In Tanay, Rizal 2 seminars were conducted at the Jesus Christ Refuge and the Life Christian Church. Noel de la Cruz, another new member of the PTC Training Team, hosted the seminars on Basic Principles and Foundational Skills in Doing Bible Exposition, and Mastering the Basics in Bible Exposition. 
Interpreting the Gospels 2 was conducted in Dinalupihan, Bataan among the pastors that belong to a group IEMELIF Reform Movement. The pastors testified that, at last, they were able to appreciate the importance of the gospel in their personal lives.
Imet with Bill Walsh, the International Director of Desiring God Ministries at the PTC Training Center. Bill also visited the seminar location in Tanay, Rizal. Desiring God Ministries (through Bill Walsh) donated some books and CDs for the PTC Center.
Prayer Items:
1. Pray for pastors who are attending PTC seminars in from Iloilo, Aklan, Antique, Pangasinan and Isabela who were victims of typhoons Cosme and Frank. Pray that they can go back to their normal life and that they could also minister effectively to their church members and take the opportunity to preach the gospel to the people in their area as the people are still reeling from the 2 calamities.
2. Pray for my daughter's, Marichu's, health. She was advised by a doctor to have further examination for her heart. She is currently working as Administrative Officer in a children's orphanage.
3. Pray for Paul III, that he could complete his studies by 2009. He is a 5th year student at the Instiute of Politcal Economy in International Studies and Development at the University of Asia & the Pacific.
4. Pray for my wife, Arcy, as she continues to serve the Lord among the women in Antipolo City.
5. Pray for me that God will give me more wisdom to lead the the PTC Training Team as more members are being added.
