Entrust Foundation Fuels the Work in Brazil and the Philippines

Nelson, Camila, Andre, and Marcia Salviano

Trust In Christ

Nelson Salviano, our mission partner in Brazil, is traveling to visit Paul Caampued, our mission partner in the Philippines, to learn how he has developed his ministry over the past 10 years. Nelson and Paul and doing similar work in their own countries, the work of training grassroot pastors to shepherd the local church.

They are training pastors who have had little or no formal theological education but who find themselves pastoring a church. The only difference is that Paul has been doing this work for ten years now and he has developed an effective leadership team to help him with the work.

Did you ever wonder how we developed mission partners in Brazil and the Philippines? A small not-for-profit organization out of England, Entrust Foundation, is the mission partner behind these two mission partners. I have had the privilege of serving on Entrust Foundation since is inception over 15 years ago. Here is Entrust’s mission:

"Our sole passion and purpose is to increase the number and quality of church leaders in the global south...We encourage church leadership development initiatives that are focused on the gospel of Jesus Christ which serve local churches and that deliver pastor training at the grassroots level."

Entrust has financially supported the work of Paul Caampued in the Philippines for over 10 years and the work of Nelson Salviano in Brazil for over 5 years. It is a privilege to partner with Entrust in serving God’s purposes in the Philippines and Brazil. It is an added privilege to see two of CrossWay’s partners working together. Entrust recently sent this prayer bulletin about Nelson’s trip to the Philippines. Please pray for them.

These two countries and projects may feel like unlikely partners – it would hard for them to be further apart geographically. But in the Entrust family there is a special link between the two for a number of reasons. First, Paul and Nelson know one another and have met in the UK on a number of occasions. Second, because CrossWay Community Church – where Entrust Advisory Committee Chairman, David Vecchitto serves as Pastor of Evangelism – has adopted the projects as mission partners. But now, third, because this week Nelson travels from his home in Brazil to meet with Paul and the team of the PTC.

Nelson will be learning more about the PTC, travelling to visit two seminars in different parts of the country – including by boat – and will look carefully at the similarities and differences between the work of PTC and ESCALE.

The intention is that both programmes, which have the same aims but different settings, learn from one another and grow and develop. There will also be opportunities for prayer and fellowship and an experience of local church and culture. Please pray for...

  • Safety as Nelson flies on 25 November and for travel during the week
  • The week itself to be one of learning and growth for all those involved
  • The impact of this time on both programmes – that it will lead to fresh impetus
  • Nelson’s family while he is away
  • The ongoing relationship between CrossWay Community Church and these project partners
