How is our family doing?
Really well! Luc recently turned 3 and William 1. Luc loves to “protect” his younger brother (mainly by saying “don’t do this”) and to act out Bible stories (David and Goliath is a favorite). Apart from a broken tooth, William enjoys a peaceful life of exploring every single inch of our apartment.
Do we miss the pastoral ministry?
(Reminder: From September 2003 to August 2008, Dominique was the senior [and solo] pastor of the Wittenheim Evangelical Church, located in Alsace [France], just a few miles away from both Germany and Switzerland.)
Yes, indeed! Being away from the Wittenheim church for several months now has proved challenging at times. We miss both our dear Alsacian brothers and sisters and the privilege of serving them through the ministry of the Word. We realize how much affection God gave us for these wonderful friends.
However, reports about Philippe and Claire Evan’s ministry, who replaced us upon our departure, are extremely encouraging: people appreciate them and the church continues to blossom under the Gospel-centered proclamation of Scripture.
What is so exciting about the Geneva Bible Institute?
Well, a lot of things. The main one is the student body. Every Tuesday night, at the school’s prayer meeting, 2 of our students share their testimony of conversion. I cannot begin to express the joy that overwhelms me each time I hear these stories. God has been pleased to send us a good number of radically converted, Christ-loving young adults who are hungry for the Word of the Lord. Most of them have been faithfully involved in bold personal evangelism. Now they are wanting to get more deeply into the Bible. As a Bible teacher, I can’t think of a more exciting opportunity.

David and Bettina came to the Geneva Bible Institute from the Wittenheim church! They have become good friends and are now preparing for full time pastoral and music ministry. They have made leaving Alsace easier: through them we brought a part of the church with us!

What is Dominique’s PhD dissertation about and why is he passionate about it?
It’s about the “today” of salvation in the New Testament, especially in Romans, 2 Corinthians, Luke / Acts and Hebrews. In a nutshell: the salvation long promised by God through the Old Testament has become a reality now (“today”) through Jesus Christ.
This topic is thrilling to me because it allows me, among other things, to see connections between the Old and the New Testament, and to study the centrality of the cross in God’s salvation history. Each hour spent in the Word on this issue is pure delight to my soul.

- For Dominique’s successful completion of his dissertation.
- For the students’ upcoming decisions regarding internships and future ministry (e.g., David and Bettina are seeking God’s will for an internship).
- For God’s guidance in the process of finding a new home.
