Mission Partners: Prayer Requests October 2008

CrossWay Milwaukee

  • Please pray for the leadership team: Jason Dahlman, Wayne Klingler, and Greg Edlund.
  • Pray for the effective witness of the gospel in Milwaukee and for a biblically healthy local church.
CrossWay East
  • CrossWay is seeking to identify a location in the city of Kenosha that it can use as a base to demonstrate the love, mercy, compassion and justice of Jesus to those who are struggling relationally, financially, educationally, and in so many more ways.
  • Please pray as the Leadership Team seeks direction and as a Task Force is assembled to identify a location.
Care Net Pregnancy Center, Kenosha

  • Please pray for the promotion, preparing, and planting of Care Net pregnancy centers throughout the country.
  • Pray for an ever-increasing network of volunteers and financial support.
  • Please pray for the clear presentation of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the women and men who feel alone and without hope in this world.
  • Please pray for the effective counseling of women with unplanned pregnancies and for the birth of their babies. Pray especially for the education of young adults and the promotion of sexual abstinence outside of marriage.
Washington Manor Nursing Home, Kenosha

  • Please pray that CrossWay would be able to provide a continual stream of people to visit and care for the residents of Washington Manor on Thursday evenings.
  • Please pray that as CrossWay visits the residents of Washington Manor that we would show the love, mercy, compassion, and kindness of Jesus Christ. Pray that through our ministry that some may come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior.
  • Please pray that God would build relationships between specific people of CrossWay and specific residents at Washington Manor so that God’s love may be effectively communicated through His church.

The Gospel Coalition, (based at Trinity Seminary, Deerfield, Il.)

  • Please pray that the Coalition would effectively guard the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and help churches which have strayed from the gospel return to it as the foundation of their ministry.
  • Please pray that God would use the Coalition to help the local church effectively reach our cities and communities with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Trust In Christ, England (a private foundation that supports non-traditional pastoral training in developing countries at the grass roots levels)

  • Please pray for the strengthening and equipping and ministry of evangelists, church planters, and pastors in India. Pray that the church in India would be strengthened in their faith for the mission that God has called them to.
  • Please pray for the development of pastoral training in South Africa. Pray that God would give Jem Hovil, TIC’s Project Manager, wisdom to know how to develop the work and eyes to see the relationships that God is bringing to TIC.
  • Please pray for Jem Hovil as he develops a curriculum for pastoral training in sub-Sahara Africa. Pray that Jem would have wisdom to prioritize the topics and be able to contextualize the training for Africa.
  • Please pray that God would give us wisdom to know in what countries and with which partners He wants us to continue to develop the work of pastoral training.
  • Pray that God would raise-up some financial partners to help us expand the work beyond our current resources.

Dominique and Laura Angers: Wittenheim, France

  • Please pray that our transition from the WEC to the GBI would go smoothly this summer, not only for us, but also for our children, the church and the school.
  • Pray for Dominique’s ministry responsibilities to be defined God’s way, and for Laura to discern where and how to serve (in our new church and at the school), on top of her main calling within our family.
  • Pray for our choice of a new church family, and for our children to become faithful disciples of Christ as they grow up.

David and Yulia Beatty: Tirana, Albania

  • Praise God! We are expecting another baby boy sometime in November.
  • Pray for Yulia’s pregnancy in light of many transitions we are facing.
  • Pray for Turi and Endriti who face adverse pressures from their Muslim families.
  • Pray for our new church leader, Dori Melaj, to grow his responsibilities as administrator and to “preach the incomparable riches of Christ” – Eph. 3:6.
  • Pray for our upcoming church baptismal service of 16 believers.

Paul and Arcy Caampued: Antipolo City, Rizal (Manila) Philippines

  • Pray for pastors who are attending PTC seminars in from Iloilo, Aklan, Antique, Pangasinan and Isabela who were victims of typhoons Cosme and Frank.
  • Pray that they can go back to their normal life and that they could also minister effectively to their church members and take the opportunity to preach the gospel to the people in their area as the people are still reeling from the 2 calamities.
  • Pray for my daughter's, Marichu's, health. She was advised by a doctor to have further examination for her heart. She is currently working as Administrative Officer in a children's orphanage.
  • Pray for Paul III, that he could complete his studies by 2009. He is a 5th year student at the Instiute of Politcal Economy in International Studies and Development at the University of Asia & the Pacific.
  • Pray for my wife, Arcy, as she continues to serve the Lord among the women in Antipolo City.
  • Pray for me that God will give me more wisdom to lead the the PTC Training Team as more members are being added.
  • Pray that God would provide all of the resources and finances to complete the construction of the PTC Centre during 2008.

Ch@d: South Asia

  • I'd appreciate your prayers that God would grant me wisdom, creativity, boldness, and diligence in getting the good news of the gospel into the ears and hearts and minds of the Mslms of this land (and the Ansari in particular).
  • Please pray that because of my being here many Mslms in this land would be provided with an opportunity to trust in Christ for salvation; something they would not likely otherwise have.
  • For me, please pray Col. 1:11-12, Phil. 1:9-11, Eph. 1:15-21, 3:14-19, 1 Pet. 4:11, Heb. 6:11-12; 12:1-3, 28-29.
  • For the Ansari, please pray 2 Cor. 4:4-6, 1 Thes. 1:2-10, Matt. 13:8, Ezek. 36:25-27; Jer. 32:38-41

Nelson and Marcia Salviano: Belo Horizonte, Brazil

  • Márcia’s father was diagnosed with cancer in his stomach (surgery was on May 26, now he is at our home for post-surgery);
  • Camila’s and André’s studies;
  • ESCALE’s finances and new challenges (new in situ training bases in Miranda and Recife);
  • For my possible visit to Paul Caampued in the Philippines to learn from his ministry;
  • For CrossWay’s visit to Brazil for our Grassroots Leaders Annual Conference this year or next year.

Paul and Rodah Mbandi: Machakos, Kenya

  • Pray that in the midst of our busy schedules we will always set time apart for our personal and family devotions.
  • Pray for God’s grace and wisdom in my added responsibility as the Deputy Principal Academic Affairs.
  • Pray that the Lord would provide $ 9,900 to pay for our new ministry vehicle that is so needed due to our challenging roads.
  • Pray that the Lord will provide more scholarship money for students. It is always hard for the college administration to tell a student to discontinue his/her studies when we know the student is clearly called in the ministry.
