I was very encouraged by our turnout at last week’s Guest Sunday, even with the rain. My guess is that we had somewhere between 120-160 guests at CrossWay last Sunday morning. Thank you for leveraging Guest Sunday to reach your family and friends for Christ.
I am thankful for Pastor Bullmore’s clear presentation of the gospel in his sermon about “Three Questioning People And the One and Only Answer.” Our guests heard of the questions posed by a religious leader, a rich young ruler, and a Samaritan woman. In each case, Jesus told them, “I am the answer to your question.”
The Samaritan woman told everyone, “Come, see”
What we see from the story of the Samaritan woman is that she was completely and radically transformed as a follower of Christ. First the woman thought it was unusual that Jesus – a Jewish teacher – would be talking to a Samaritan woman. And then after Jesus revealed her past, the woman thought that Jesus might be a prophet. She was completely undone when after telling Jesus that one day the Messiah would come Jesus said to her, “”I who speak to you am he” (John 4:26). The next verse reads,
Many believed Jesus was “indeed the Savior of the world.”
As a result of the woman’s invitation, many came out to Jesus and believed in him. They believed not just because of the woman’s testimony, but “because of his word.”
If we have been changed by Jesus Christ, we too have a responsibility to invite the people we know to “Come, see” Jesus. We have a responsibility to invite them to come and meet the man who changed my life, his name is Jesus and he wants to change your life too. We have a great opportunity to invite them to the Preview Dinner for Exploring Christianity on September 24th. Just invite them to, “Come, see.”
Especially if you invited a guest to our Harvest Festival where I invited them to the Preview Dinner, you have a responsibility to follow-up on that initial invitation and invite them again to “Come, see.” And, many who were invited believed that Jesus was “indeed the Savior of the world” (John 4:42).

So the woman left her water jar and went away into town and said to the people, Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?” John 4:28This Samaritan woman was so dramatically changed that she left her water jar and told everyone in town to “Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?” She was so radically changed by Jesus that she wanted other people to “Come, see” this Jesus who had changed her life.
Many believed Jesus was “indeed the Savior of the world.”

Many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman's testimony, He told me all that I ever did.” So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days. And many more believed because of his word. They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.” John 4:39-42God calls us to tell others, “Come, see”
