Evangelism Calendar for 2008-2009

Over the last several weeks we have been talking about evangelism. This week I want to give you a preview of our evangelism calendar for the coming year. I want to encourage you to view these opportunities as tools in your own personal evangelism and not as things that CrossWay is doing evangelistically. CrossWay does have an evangelistic witness as a church body, but we also have a personal responsibility to tell others about Jesus Christ.

September 14 is our Guest Sunday and Harvest Barbecue. This is a great opportunity to invite a guest to our Sunday service. You can be sure that they will be warmly welcomed, witness a compelling personal testimony, and hear a clear presentation of the gospel. After the service we are hosting a churchwide Harvest Barbecue to linger with our guests; guests eat for free!

September 24 is our Preview Dinner for Exploring Christianity. The Preview Dinner exists for your guests to experience Exploring Christianity before registering for the course. We would encourage you to invite guests to this dinner to see what Exploring Christianity is all about without any further obligation. It is always a fun evening and over 90% of the people who attend the dinner register for the course.

September 24 – November 12 is Exploring Christianity. Exploring Christianity exists to create a relaxed setting for people from all walks of life to explore the Christian faith. Every evening includes dinner, followed by a brief talk, and ends with small group discussion. This is a great event to help you in your personal evangelism. We encourage CrossWay attenders to participate in the course with their guests so they can continue the conversation about Jesus throughout the week.

October 4 is an equipping luncheon for the Age of Opportunity group. This unique opportunity will envision and equip our seniors on how to reach out in this opportune stage of life to their non-Christian family and friends.

December 6 is a traditional women’s tea. This women's event will create a warm and inviting setting for women to invite their non-Christian friends to hear a clear and compelling presentation of the gospel.

December 14 is our Christmas Guest Sunday. Similar to the fall, this is a great opportunity to invite your non-Christian family and friends to hear a clear presentation of the gospel.

January 10 is a men’s pancake breakfast. Similar to the women’s tea, this event will create a relaxed environment for men to invite their non-Christian friends to hear a clear and compelling presentation of the gospel.

January 21 is our Preview Dinner for Exploring Christianity. This is our winter version of the event on September 24.

January 21 – March 11 is Exploring Christianity. This is our winter version of the event scheduled during September 24 – November 12.

April 12 is our Easter Guest Sunday. This is a great opportunity to invite your non-Christian family and friends to hear a clear presentation of the gospel on Easter Sunday.
